The defining feature of the Sazerac is its method of preparation, which commonly involves two chilled old-fashioned glasses.

ice
2 oz. Two Georges Rye Whiskey
(or 2 oz. Fernández Brandy de Jerez)
¼-½ oz. simple syrup
4-5 dashes of Peychaude's Bitters
1 lemon twist, for garnish
Directions:
Chill an old-fashioned glass with ice.
Fill another glass with ice and add the Rye (or Brandy), simple syrup and bitters and stir well.
Discard the ice from the first glass and coat the inside of the glass with absinthe (discarding any extra absinthe).
Strain the drink into it the absinthe coated glass.
Twist the lemon peel over the cocktail and use as garnish. Serve immediately. Sip slowly.
