Vinegar & Pepper BBQ Sauce

Traditionally mixed into pulled pork to moisten and flavor it.
Ingredients (about 2 cups)
2 cups vomFASS Apple Balsamic vinegar
2 Tbsp coarsely ground black pepper
1½ Tbsp packed dark or light brown sugar
2 tsp kosher salt
2 tsp hot sauce of choice
1 tsp red pepper flakes
Directions
Heat all of the ingredients in a large pan over medium-low heat.
Simmer for 2-3 minutes. Whisk it all together.
Taste and adjust seasonings as desired. Dilute with a small amount of water, if desired. Transfer the sauce to a mason jar or bottle and let sit for 1-2 days to let the flavors meld. The sauce can be stored at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
Note: For Light Tomato BBQ style sauce, add 1 tablespoon ketchup.
