Sweet Dreams Cupcakes with Vodka Buttercream Frosting

Pipe the icing or just spread it on, either way tastes dreamily delicious.

Ingredients (Yields 24)
1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature  
1¾ cups sugar 
4 large eggs, room temperature
3 cups flour 
1 Tbsp baking powder 
½ tsp salt 
½ cup (4 oz) buttermilk, room temperature 
2 Tbsp vomFASS Premium Vodka
4 Tbsp vomFASS Vanilla Dream Liqueur, divided
2 tsp vanilla extract 

FROSTING
4 oz butter, room temperature 
4 cups powdered sugar 
1 Tbsp vomFASS Premium Vodka
2 Tbsp vomFASS Vanilla Dream Liqueur
(plus a little more to make a smoother consistency, if too frosting is too stiff)

Directions
Prepare cupcake tins with paper liners. Preheat oven to 350ºF.
Place the flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl; set aside.
In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar, slowly for 2 minutes. Increase to high and beat for another 8 minutes, or until light and fluffy, scraping the bowl occasionally.
Add 2 of the eggs, one at a time, scraping bowl after each addition, then add half of the flour mixture, scraping the sides with a spatula if needed.
Add half of the buttermilk and mix well, then add another egg. 
Continue to mix; then add the remaining milk, egg, vanilla, vomFASS Premium Vodka and 3 Tbsp Vanilla Dream liqueur and flour mixture. Mix on high for 2 minutes, scraping sides with a spatula at least once.
Fill the cupcake liners half full of the batter and bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean when placed in the center of a cupcake. Place on cooling rack. While cupcakes are a bit warm, use a pastry brush to lightly apply remaining Vanilla Dream liqueur over each cupcake, then allow to cool completely.
FROSTING
Beat all the butter until fluffy, adding the powdered sugar and then spirits and mixing until smooth. 
Pipe or spread icing on cooled cupcakes.
