Summer's Last Hurrah

Just One More...

Let’s be honest. Labor Day weekend has a bit of an identity crisis.

It’s still technically summer, but somehow the calendar starts whispering things like back-to-school, pumpkin spice, and where did August go? The evenings arrive a little earlier, the mornings have just a hint of coolness, and suddenly everyone starts acting like grilling season is over.

But, it isn't.There's time for One More Patio Dinner...One More Sunset...One More Toast...

Make it Summer's Hurrah

At vomFASS Madison, we think Labor Day deserves better than being treated like summer’s closing credits. Instead, we see it as the grand finale—the encore.

The weekend that calls for one more backyard barbecue. One more lazy afternoon on the patio. One more bottle of wine shared with friends who always seem to linger just a little longer than they planned. One more bowl of ice cream melting over sweet summer fruit.

*Speaking of Dessert

When you’re stopping by vomFASS Madison to stock up on the good stuff for your Labor Day gathering, come hungry. On Saturday, September 5, we’re adding a little extra sweetness to your shopping trip with a complementary Sundae Bar!

Want to spoil your family at home? Check out the recipes for the sundaes below.

Pick up the olive oil for the grilled vegetables, the balsamic for the tomatoes, the finishing touch for dessert—and then reward yourself with a scoop (or two) on us. Consider it our way of helping you get ready for one more delicious weekend of summer.

We've Learned

If there’s one thing we’ve learned over the years, it’s this:

  • The meals people remember rarely have anything to do with fancy recipes.
  • They remember laughing so hard someone snorted iced tea through their nose.
  • They remember the kids chasing fireflies while the burgers rested.
  • They remember Grandpa insisting he wasn’t hungry…right before going back for thirds.
  • They remember that neighbor who “just stopped by for a minute” and somehow stayed until the stars came out.

The food simply gave everyone a reason to gather.

No Fuss Needed

Nothing complicated. Just remarkable ingredients doing what they do best. Because hospitality isn’t measured by how many hours you spent in the kitchen. It’s measured by how welcome people feel around your table. Nobody is handing out trophies for the most elaborate potato salad.

Open a bottle you’ve been saving...Fire up the grill.

Set out the good olive oil...Light a few candles.

Pull up another chair when someone unexpected drops by.

Stay outside until the mosquitoes politely suggest it’s time to call it a night.

Savor one more sweet...Watch one more sunset.

Because summer isn’t really measured in days. It’s measured in moments. And we’re not quite finished making them yet. From all of us at vomFASS Madison, here’s to one last delicious celebration of a season we never want to rush through.

Happy Labor Day—and cheers to making every last bite count.
