Terre Stragate "Svelato" Falanghina de Sannio
This product is available for in-store pick-up only. Cannot be shipped.
Terre Stregate was founded in 1988, but the family’s winemaking roots go back five generations, to 1898. Today, the estate is run by Filomena and Carlo Iaobucci who have converted all of their 25 hectares of native vines to organic farming.
Falanghina is an ancient grape variety grown in volcanic soil just north of Mt. Vesuvius, and was the favorite white wine of Roman Emperors.
“Svelato” meaning “Unveiled” refers to uncovering the true potential of Falanghina grapse. Harvested and pressed in whole bunches and aged for several months on its lees (in tank) this is not your ordinary Campania quaffer. This wine starts with the aromas of wild flowers, honeysuckle and citrus blossoms, with rich minerality and bursts with herby stone fruits on the palette.
Excellent with appetizers, grilled seafood dishes, pasta with cacio e pepe, lemon garlic vegetables, and fresh cheeses.
